In accordance with the regulations issued by The Ministry of Finance and Budget of Equatorial Guinea, an ECTN Certificate is mandatory for cargo shipments arriving in Equatorial Guinea by sea.

ECTN stands for Electronic Cargo Tracking Note, which corresponds to the French term BORDEREAU ÉLECTRONIQUE DE SUIVI DES CARGAISONS.

The ECTN Certificate is required for each individual Bill of Lading. A unique certificate number is assigned to every Bill of Lading, and multiple certificates cannot be issued for the same Bill of Lading. This applies regardless of whether the shipment is LCL or FCL.

Processing Time and Application Procedure

The certificate issuance process typically takes approximately three business days. Send your documents in PDF format; no application forms, fees, or additional administrative procedures are required.

Important Notes and Common Reasons for Rejection

• Consistency of all information in the submitted documents is extremely important.
• Approval may be denied if the Shipper and Consignee information differs between documents.
• Inconsistencies in cargo value, freight charges, or other cost elements can lead to rejection.
• Discrepancies in product descriptions, container numbers, gross weight, volume, or other shipment details may cause denial.

If approval is not granted, a system notification will indicate the reason and required corrective actions; we will handle revisions and resubmit.

Cargo Levy

There is no charge during the draft preparation stage. However, once the approval stage begins, the cargo levy fee payable to the relevant authority is paid in advance by Nesay Shipping & Logistics and is non‑refundable.
